Traditions of British
The British, like other nations, have a certain reputation.
It also includes ancient traditions and customs.
The british are a nation of homebodies. And the fireplace is
the heart of the English house. In the evening they can sit in the living room, discussing the events of the past day. In many houses
you can still find fireplaces today.
BRITISH love gardening and love to talk about it.
Sometimes the British grow plants in a box outside the kitchen window or in the
garden near the house. They love flowers very much.
They like animals very much. The population accounts for
about five million dogs, about the same number of cats, three million parrots,
other birds and aquarium fish. They believe that they are the only nation that cares so much for
animals.
There are some traditions concerning food. The English
prefer a hearty breakfast. It can consist of oatmeal, eggs and bacon, fried
fish, toast with jam, tea or coffee. Toasts, they prefer cold. As a rule,
breakfast is the same every day.
Tea - an integral part of the life of the British, like
potatoes or bread. From 4 to 6 pm - a tea time, which is called "5
o'clock". At this time, tea is drunk with cakes or small sandwiches. This
is a whole ritual for them.
